I see any form of artistic expression as "telling" a story--the artist's personal story. And I do come from a family of artists if not writers. Family ancestry is fascinating. I'm not a storyteller, per se. I can write them, but face-to-face? Forget it! Once it's out, you can't change it, tweak it, mold it to what you really meant. <br />I do, however, love the written word. I read voraciously as a kid, and began writing for myself in grade school. Did I mention mom was an English teacher? None of my kids are voracious readers, but they can all write well.
